So you have an Elumen8 LED light that needs troubleshooting for various reasons. This guide hopefully provides an insight on some issues that you may come across when you’re patching in the lights or even using the lights.

Patching the Lights

Lights aren’t being recognised by the console

This issue mainly happens when you cannot find anything within the ZerOS Library to do with the Elumen8 fixtures. We can resolve this in a couple of ways. The first way is upgrading the ZerOS software on the console. The library upgrade should be able to pick up on different fixtures that you may have not had before.

Post-Patching Issues

Lights won’t respond to the channel

So you’ve managed to patch some lights in, but alas, they will not. Now, how we figured out fixing this with our fixtures was by doing a very simple boot order. Yes, you read that right. A boot order.

The Boot Order (for an FLX S24 anyways):

  1. Plug in the board to the mains and plug in the DMX. Let the lighting console boot up as normal and select the show that you want to load.
  2. Once everything is loaded, head to where your dimmer box is as well as the DMX controllers and switch everything on.
  3. Head back to your desk - or get another technician to test - and see if the LEDs respond.
